IDK Green Policy

RoHS

Rules directed by the EC regulating the use of harmful substances in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment. RoHS limits those compounds as a part of a contribution to human health, while driving the production of environmentally responsible electrical and electronic equipment that meets the requirements needed for the EU market.

REACH Annex XVII

Aims at improving the protection of human health from harmful chemical interaction and to improve the competitiveness of the European chemical industry. Substances in the restricted substance list are limited to be used or sold within the EU if these substances do not meet the restriction conditions.

TSCA
Toxic Substances Control Act

A United States law on regulating chemicals and mixture that may pose any unreasonable risks on human health and the environment.

WEEE
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

EU rules on testing waste electrical and electronic equipment directed by the EC. Aims at promoting re-use and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment to reduce the quantity of these waste materials and to improve the environmental conditions within the EU. This initiative includes an obligation to pay fees.

ELV
End-of-Life Vehicles

Directed by the EC and aims at reducing environmental load by reducing vehicle waste within the EU.

POPs
Persistent Organic Pollutants

An international treaty aims at protecting human health and the environment from the harmful effects of POPs by eliminating or restricting the production and use of the certain hazardous chemicals on the list of POPs. This treaty poses a threat to the environment and to human health all over the globe. More than 170 countries including the EU and Japan have ratified the treaty.

IEC62474

An International Standard directed by IEC for the exchange of material composition data and provide requirements for chemical material declarations (transferring constructional/content material data) across the supply chain.

DoE level VI

New energy efficiency standard of external power supplies (AC adapter, voltage converter) for industrial equipment within the U.S. market. Regulated by the department of Energy.
